Endla Nature Reserve
Endla Nature Reserve is located in Central Estonia, in the middle course of the Põltsamaa River, near the borders of Järva and Jõgeva counties.
The reserve, covering 10,110 ha, was established in order to protect the bogs and bog islands characteristic of Central and Eastern Estonia and the karst springs of the southern slope of Pandivere. The central part of the extensive Endla wetlands is under protection: eight bogs, transitional mires and swamps around them, wet forests, lakes, streams and rivers, and the springs of Norra-Oostriku-Võlingi.
With prior notification and in the presence of an environmental specialist, it is possible to see an exhibition at the Endla Nature Centre introducing the bogs and the values of the Endla Nature Reserve.
