Järva-Jaani Firefighting Museum
The Järva-Jaani Firefighting Museum takes you on a journey through the history of firefighting in Estonia. The exhibition provides a comprehensive overview of 20th-century firefighting technology — you can see hand pumps, motor pumps, and tank trucks, all of which tell the story of how fire began to be tamed.
The museum features an interactive house model that demonstrates the basics of fire safety. The more daring can try the role of a volunteer firefighter and slide down a pole to the lower floor, just like a real firefighter. On the first floor, firefighter helmets, uniforms, and rare vehicles are on display. There is plenty to explore for the whole family. For a comprehensive overview, you can request a guided tour.
The Firefighting Museum is part of the Järva-Jaani Old Technology Museum Center, which is located in one wing of the main building. You can also explore the history of Järva-Jaani in the main building. The center includes the Old Technology Shelter and the nearby Järva-Jaani Cinema Museum and Järva-Jaani Local History Museum. All of these can be visited with a joint ticket.
Come and see if you could become a firefighter!
