2-day itinerary Põltsamaa and Järvamaa – add value to programs enroute from Tartu to Tallinn
Day 1. Transfer from Tartu (1 hr), the first stop in Põltsamaa is the town’s historical castle which once served as a royal residence. A visit to the castle’s museum offers insight into its complex history while the recently reconstructed tower provides beautiful views of the surroundings. Tour of the castle is followed by a meal in the on-site restaurant Oberpahlen. Optional extra visit to a local food producer: tasting of all sorts of honey at Meemeistrid. The trip continues to Paide where the Wittenstein Activity Museum brings 19th century small-town to life in an engaging way. An additional stop at Kirna Manor allows for a walk in the manor park before heading to Toosikannu Nature Resort for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2. The next morning, a tour of Estonia’s largest privately owned wildlife park at Toosikannu offers the chance to see the majestic red deer as well as Estonia’s native animals in their natural habitat. To add a bit of nostalgia to the string of emotions, a visit to Käru Museum which showcases an extensive collection of baby carriages – fitting for a village whose name means “pram” in Estonian. Käru Museum is a true community effort run by dedicated volunteers who have turned it into a local treasure. After lunch, the journey continues towards Tallinn, leaving behind the peaceful charm of the Estonian heartland with its unique stories and genuine encounters.
3-day itinerary Tõrva and Viljandi – add value to programs enroute from Riga to Tallinn/Tartu
Day 1. Transfer from Riga (3 hrs) with first stop in Tõrva, a quiet resort town surrounded by nature and rich in unexpected discoveries. A visit to the Shroomwell factory offers an introduction to Estonia’s innovative food scene, followed by a relaxed lunch in town. The medieval ruins and sandstone caves of Helme provide a scenic afternoon stop before heading to Taagepera Castle for a walk in its spacious gardens. Dinner and an overnight stay at Hotel Wagenküll round off the day in style.
Day 2. The next morning, a visit to the Mulgi Experience Centre introduces the unique heritage of the Mulgi people, known for their traditions and Mulgi dialect. Following transfer (1hr) to Viljandi takes you across the rolling countryside, offering some of the loveliest views. Upon arrival in Viljandi, lunch in one of the town’s cosy restaurants. After lunch, a guided walking tour in the Old Town. Day 3. In the morning, choice of two creative programs – visit to either Kondas Art Centre which highlights Estonia’s naïve art heritage, or the Estonian Traditional Music Centre where folk traditions come to life. Alternatively, free time to explore Viljandi on your own. A leisurely lunch in Viljandi provides a perfect moment to reflect on the journey before heading onward to Tallinn (2 hrs) or Tartu (1hr).
